I look around our city and i see desperate hearts,

looking to be filled with something,

hearts that are broken,

and beyond the repair of this world.

If only they would look up.

If only they would see what i see,

A God who fulfills every need,

i’ll make this my priority.

If i could only tell you how many times i’ve stayed up at night,

worrying about what will be.

Trying so hard to make sense of a life,

where my purpose is beyond what i can see,

then there’s always the issue

of not knowing which road to take,

which comes about quite often,

and often i’ll make a mistake.

Some things make you question life, you know?

The same old how’s and the why’s,

But there’s one thing that you won’t,

if you choose to realise.

A life of freedom was created for you,

and was not to be ignored,

everything mapped out perfectly,

without a single flaw.

The same hand that flung stars into space,

knows you like the back of His hand,

and the future that he has for you,

is greater than you’ve ever planned.

i don’t worry about the future any more,

i simply trust the God of all,

knowing that his plan for me,

will be all i hoped for and more.

what am i supposed to do,

when what was once my strength,

becomes the very reason of my weakness?

when i stand in front of walls that are one hundred times my size?

when i can barely stand because my once solid foundation is shaking underneath me?

How am i supposed to act as if i’m fine,

hiding behind a glass smile that with a single thought,

could be shattered instantly?

I need you to show me.

remind me.

like the sweetest of melodies,

like the greatest of harmonies,

it floats between my every breath,

never ceasing to have an effect on me,

even creation joins in,

shouting the name that makes hearts beat faster,

shouting the name that brings the unseen into very existence,

and on it goes,

through the valley,

through the raging seas,

Fields dressed in daisy’s,

surround you and I,

I run to you freely,

Everything else passes by.

My every worry no longer exists,

every hurt and pain is gone,

you draw me into your courts

and say “this is where you belong”

Every doubt exits my mind,

leaving behind not even its trace,

i know what i’ve found is for real,

I’ve been eternally save by His grace,

And even though sometimes storms brew,

and the daisy’s no longer bloom,

i look ahead and still hear you say,

“these steps i’ve already walked for you”

The storms they pass,

as hard as they can be,

you are my comfort and strong tower,

as you remind me of your love repeatedly.

Accross the field i look again,

ever facing towards the light,

Jesus you are my everything,

even in the midst of the darkest night.
